Steph is a therapist, social worker, mother & friend. She is here to share her story and family history with breast cancer in hopes to spread awareness and create a supportive space & community.
I’m sharing this because I believe in the power of shared experience. Reliability helped me make decisions, manage, cope, & may help others accept, heal, & find the strength to move forward. I know there are many people out there with the gene, with the decisions, impacted directly or indirectly with breast cancer. We’re in this together, you’re not alone.
Once the process was done, I was proud of my choice and began to move forward from it all. I’ve worked through the feelings by reminding myself that being present and living without fear for myself and my family is most important.
