Product Care
GENERAL CARE
We are here to help with all your product care needs! As a general rule, jewelry should always be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off. We recommend removing jewelry of any kind when swimming, bathing, sleeping, or doing strenuous activity. Do not let your jewelry come into contact with oils, lotions, perfume or hairspray. This will help keep jewelry clean and protect from damage such as abrasions and reduction of lustre.
Brass Gold Plated
All of our brass jewelry is plated with 18KT solid gold or rhodium. This higher karat of plating provides increased strength and durability.
All brass jewelry will naturally experience loss of plating and/or tarnishing over time, especially when exposed to the following elements: water, moisture, perspiration, cosmetics (i.e., lotions/perfume) chlorine, sulfur, and/or other harsh chemicals.
To increase the longevity of your brass jewelry, we suggest taking these pieces off and storing them in your LG dust pouch when engaging in any of the following activities:
- Household or outdoor chores
- Showering, bathing, swimming or any activity that would expose the brass to water/moisture.
- Strenuous activities / exercising
- Use of hair or body products such as lotions, perfumes, hairsprays, etc.
Should your brass jewelry become exposed to any of the above environmental factors, we suggest gently wiping the piece off with a dry microfiber cloth. Please reach out to customercare@lisagozlan.com should you have any questions or concerns with regards to caring for your brass items.
10K & 14K Gold
Our 10k and 14k solid gold jewelry can be worn everyday and is handcrafted to last a lifetime.
While these pieces are perfect for everyday wear, oils, dirt and grime can build up overtime thus requiring gentle care and periodic polishing. We recommend cleaning/polishing your solid gold jewelry every 6-12 months or on a need basis.
Please reach out to customercare@lisagozlan.com for all inquiries relating to caring for and cleaning your 10k and/or 14k gold.
Gold Vermeil
Our Gold Vermeil refers to a thick layer of 14k or 18k solid gold, plated on 925 sterling silver. When compared to regular gold plating (i.e., Brass, Gold plated), gold vermeil provides increased strength and durability.
Gold Vermeil will naturally tarnish over time however, its longevity is especially impacted when exposed to the following elements: water, moisture, perspiration, cosmetics (i.e., lotions/perfumes), chlorine, sulfur and other harsh chemicals. For this reason, we recommend taking our gold vermeil off and storing it in your LG dust pouch when engaging in any activity that may subject the piece to the above environmental factors.
Gold Vermeil is best cleaned using a dry microfiber cloth to gently polish. Please reach out to customercare@lisagozlan.com should you have any questions regarding cleaning protocols and/or replating services.
Sterling Silver
Our Sterling silver is composed of 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper, a combination that is lightweight and highly durable. Sterling silver can become tarnished when exposed to water, moisture, perspiration, cosmetics (i.e., perfumes/lotions), chlorine, sulfur and other harsh chemicals.
To prevent tarnishing, we suggest removing your sterling silver jewelry and storing it in your LG dust pouch, when engaging in any activity that may expose the jewelry to the above elements. Sterling Silver is best cleaned by a professional however, you can always clean your sterling silver at home using a silver cleaning agent and microfiber cloth. Please reach out to customercare@lisagozlan.com should you have any questions with regards to professional or at home cleaning protocols.
